In the Sun Also Rises I was baffled at the end. Actually I was baffled through the whole novel. There was drinking. There was bull fighting. There was a love story. There was Spain. And then there was Paris.

The hoards of people who have traipsed through Paris and raved about it, the amount the city has been photographed, analyzed, mentioned and displayed in global view left me a little nervous. Perhaps I wouldn't like this too-touristy European "Must See"?

Expecting little, but receiving all (as per Sharon Higgins-ism) has been the mantra of this city. It deserves every bit of limelight that has been cast its direction.

The Hillary and Holly Higgins version of 'Forget Paris'...

The Eiffel Tower. I feel like everyone and their dog has a picture of it. I recall Tom and Sharon having a small replica of this oh so famous tower in our family home in Calgary (the first home- the one from the 1980s and early 1990s). Tara had pictures from her trip with her mom. Brodie and Darren had pictures that were as close to perfect as you can get... irritatingly so, because my night view still makes the tower look like a blurry stick of light. Damn!

Eating. And drinking coffee. We're really, really good at this.

Notre Dame. I am a little agitated that much of my European knowledge has come from Disney. "There must be more then this Provincial life?" "The hunchback of Notre Dame?"

The self-portrait. Sometimes we have luck getting good pictures taken by strangers... and sometimes not.

Please note the sign says "WHERE ARE YOU THOMAS" . We took about ten of these pictures, all of which I will send to you, Thomas. A random woman commented. "I hope you find Thomas!"
